Influx of Salt Water Kills the Marsh.mov

America’s Mississippi Delta has a interesting dynamic with fresh water flowing down the river and out into the Gulf. With the degradation of natural barriers we face salt water flowing back up in the channels which kills the Marshland and affects its biodiversity. Simple hydrology can be used to maintain this natural balance. On the McIlhenny trapping grounds we have a dam controlling this balance. The dam is leaking and new water control pipes and levee need to be put in.
